Imaging planets especially Jupiter require superb seeing conditions a d I'm not just talking of transparency.where the jet stream sits has a huge impact in stable or not skies.for us in the UK that a not that often. Happy clear skies - hopefully with a cam that works! I certainly want either a swap for new or a swap for a different model with same sensitivity. I contacted my supplier about it and see what his suppliers tells him. So, I am not surprised, but certainly disappointed as I work hard to pay for this expensive hobby and that happens? I firmly believe this chip is defective as many defective chips of other kind too, that are allowed tio be in the market - we had same problems with many Laptop GPUs as well and nothing happened and people lost money thanks to this. Then I played around a bit 'not thinking' about this cam and then started to chase some galaxies to see how good it is - well all went dark, the cam losing sensitivity. So, last night I started to play with The Moon initially for about 1H 30m and then stopped or a bit and went to Jupiter to test an old SCT and it was not that clear as I would have expected - even thou the weather was good as I could see Jupiter better than usual by eye and thought - yes, I am going to get Jupiter nailed tonight! Last 2 times, I finally noticed it and and a week ago session was great in taking the Moon and then started to loose sensitivity - but was clouding over and that what 'tricked' me into not seeing the camera is actually faulty!ĩ5% of the time I often switched to a DSLR after about 2 hours and other times I stopped session because I thought the seeing was getting worse - NOOOO - the camera was getting hot - with the fan ON! I personally believe the chip 'normally' overheats. I happened to have found that his camera - although great - is defective! I purchased it last October and used it little, but I happened to end my 'learning' sessions early as it was clouding over and camera was losing its sensitivity, then. So, you did not get the 178c Altair any more? My slider labels always look like the first example. However, I have seen charts where this is not the case (e.g. yearyear as in the chart in this answer ). Well, I had to cancel that order but have now purchased another ZWO the ASI174MC When making an interactive chart with a slider using Altair 4.1, the slider's label is namefield (e.g.
